A brave, tiny red berry on a little twig, poking up through the frozen snow.

A wooden bridge on the trail. No more slogging through the water and mud in the spring!

A pretty way to end a winter's day, a walk in the quiet woods. Lots of thinking about the year that is about to come to its end, and looking forward to new adventures in the new year.

The stream was still under a coat of smooth and shiny ice.

I love this single icy bauble, looking as if suspended in air!

Beautiful sculptures Mother Nature has set out for me to view and delight over.

I wish you all a most wonderful, happy, fun-filled, exciting, quiet, warm and cozy New Year's!

Beautiful place to walk/hike, Cheryl.. Glad they put a nice little bridge there for you... Don't you feel like that trail is all YOURS?????
Be careful out there in the cold and snow. We have a cold cold rain tonight--and it's 35 degrees...
Happy New Year.
Hugs,
Betsy

Love the bauble and the one of Buddy looking back (or toward) the trail. Love them all, actually. Beautiful winter shots. Maybe after this weekend there will be more snow in your photos. Time will tell. Happy New Year! Love, Aunt Jean

Winter, for me, is a beautiful scene. I wanted to walk along its path like you did here, Cheryl.
Happy New Year!!! :)
such gorgeous pics!
A quiet walk sound very good right now. Maybe tomorrow if the rain lets up.
I have found some nice photos from 2007 and 2008 that I would like to use in my blogs but last night was a bad night for me and I didn't get much rest. Most of the time I had one coughing fit after another. I thought I would try to just say, "thanks" to those who stopped today. I appreciate the comments, visits and prayers. I hope things will get back to normal soon.
Hi Cheryl, Happy New Year to you and all at home.
Wishing you the very best of 2010.
Holy smoke! I love the 1st photo of that cherry. You sure got sharp eyes to notice that. Its really a beautiful picture Cheryl. You are not only observant but very creative with your camera....and I guess you knelt down taking that cherry shot, huh?
You stay young, stay beautiful and keep a song in your heart, and have a great new year. Lee.
ps, having a light Jack Daniels and Southern Comfort hangover, ha ha.
Brain not fully activated....yet. L.
Beautiful ice drops. Did the two nieces enjoy their first snowshoeing outing? Hope it wasn't as cold there as it was here. Sun finally popped out, but it's pretty darn cold. Right now it's dropping and it's 18 above.
Oh my! These photos are just spectacular! I love every one.
You are truly blessed with a wonderful place to walk and enjoy God's beautiful handywork.
Great shots Cheryl!
Happy 2010!
Lin: Glad to share my little piece of Heaven with you all!
Betsy: Yes as a matter of fact I do feel like the trail is mine!
George: Its not everyone who has a beautiful trail and preserve to hike right next door!
reanaclaire: I am very blessed with all that is around me!
Bernie: We live in a region that has many trails and preserves, purchased by the local Land Trust so all can enjoy for many years to come.
Aunt Jean: Well we have received a bit more snow! Tried snowshoeing this afternoon but it was kinda hard going. Almost a sleet too.
Wenn: Hoping your new year is wonderful!
Lucy the cat: Glad you enjoy coming along on my walks, you can stay in where its warm and dry!!
flyingstars: Winter is upon us. We have had snow for almost three days, about 6 inches so far. A most wonderful New Year to you!
SamanthaClarke: Thank you. I can only wish that I could take such wonderful photos as you do! Have a Happy New Year!
lancelonie: You are welcome to "walk along" with me from your chair anytime!!
Gary: Thanks! We must be sharing the same snowstorm right about now!
Linda Reeder: The last few walks have been very peaceful, the snow hushes everything. Its magical!
Abraham Lincoln: Thanks for stopping by. Do hope you are getting rest and feeling much better!
Uncle Lee: I behaved myself New Year's Eve! Not even a light hang-over such as yours. Yes, I did have to kneel down to snap the first photo, then I worried I might not get back up with my two bad knees! I figure the dog would eventually go home and get help if I couldn't get up! I just look all around and something will seem to call to me to photograph. You and yours are wished a very wonderful New Year. Thanks for all your nice comments!
Patty: I feel badly as we couldn't go snowshoeing yesterday as the snow was heavy with rain. Tried to go today but it was very hard going for some reason. So hopefully Sunday I can take the nieces out. They have been very good about practicing in their yard though!
Kay: Thank you. I bet you are glad you are not looking at the same stuff I am!
James: Yes I certainly am blessed and realize how much each and every day. I finally have learned to slow down and enjoy! Happy New Year!
