The only thing moving around here during the snowstorm today was this woodpecker! He seemed pleased that he had the suet feeder all to himself.

Photo of ice against the windows, after the heavy snow changed over to sleet.

The branches were bent right over with the heavy, wet snow on them. We have about 6 inches of snow here along the coast. Now the snow has changed over to a rain/sleet mix with heavy winds of up to 40 mph predicted. So far so good the power hasn't gone out but has in many other areas of the state.

The first few snowfalls are always nice as everything is covered with a pure white blanket. It always seems more like Christmas when the ground is covered with snow.

I agree, Cheryl. I need the snow to make it seem more like Christmas.
The power's still on here. Hope we don't lose it. Hope this isn't another "Ice Storm '98."
We're having very high winds at the moment. Temp is dropping, it started out at 52 this morning and now it's 26, it's been raining, sleeting and snowing off and on all day today. I'm still not ready for this. I know our son is going to freeze when he comes in on the 26th. from Fl.
Love your snow, Cheryl, but hate that it has changed to ice and sleet. Hope you don't lose your electricity. Our weather was sunshine today --but going to go down to the low 20's tonight and the teens tomorrow night. Brrrrr...
Enjoy your snow--but stay SAFE.
Hugs,
Betsy

Beautiful photos, Cheryl. We've been hearing about your weather over here in Hawaii. I understand there's more bad weather on the way. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Stay safe.
