A little more frost...

Here is a pretty view of the sky this afternoon, looking towards the west, from our home. One can tell a snowstorm is coming from the sky. We are to get some snow tomorrow but nothing like the southern part of the country. I would like to put in a request for just enough snow so I can snowshoe, nothing more!

We walked out behind our house onto the marsh this afternoon. It was a tropical day here--almost 20 degrees and no wind blowing.

Couldn't resist trying to capture some more "crystals". I wonder what people hiking nearby think when they see a woman dressed in snow pants, heavy jacket and a bright red Mad Bomber hat and boots kneeling on the ground?

Buddy loves the ice. He is all snug in his LLBean suede dog coat and since most of the snow is gone now he could chase sticks, very happily! He is always on a leash wherever we walk but behind our house we let him run and chase sticks. He cannot seem to learn to bring the stick back to us, just demolishes it! The tide has brought in lots of branches and limbs from the past couple of storms and there were enough sticks to keep Buddy on the go for quite a while. He eats ice from the edge of the brook as well.
This was taken with my macro setting. I really liked the look, the leaf frozen into where ice froze making two sections in the brook.

Just a shot that intrigued me. Marsh grass that was covered by the tide and evidently froze as the tide went out.

As you can see there is not much snow left here. A few small patches amongst the pines on our front lawn and a big patch behind the house.
I thought I would show you all what I mean when I talk about "behind our house". This is all marsh and the tidal brook flows through it out to an even larger marsh near the tree line. We walk out here on snowshoes alot and it also borders the Preserve I mention alot. We walk the Preserve almost daily as well as caretake it for the Land Trust. So, this is a view looking from the marsh towards the back of my home!

Neat Cheryl... Love seeing ALL around your home. I hope you get SOME snow--but not too much. That's the kind of snow we enjoy too...

This latest huge storm pretty much missed us totally. We had some freezing rain, sleet, lots of rain --and a few snow flurries...That's about it for us.

Be careful out there especially when you are near that icy marsh...

Hugs,
Betsy

Please tell Buddy that Molly finds him to be very appealing, shall we say, in his LL Bean suede coat. Your photos should be submitted to the Sunday Telegram. They print readers' photos, and yours are as good as any I've seen.

Hi Cheryl,
The land around your home is so pretty. I love your pictures. We got a ton of snow yesterday. I am hoping it stays on the ground at least until Christmas. I don't think we're due for any before then. Buddy looks so very cute in his suede coat. :)
