As most of you know, this blog was a joint project of Ashton and myself, started on her 17th birthday last year, to chronicle her last year of high school and the start of my "empty nest".
We have had such fun with our blog and a couple of weeks ago Ashton announced that she was going to start her own blog. So without further ado, may I introduce you to: http://ashtonanne.blogspot.com Enjoy!

I guess you know she really is growing up and almost all at once it seems. I know you must be very proud. :)
she really graduated...on to the future.
Well congrats to Ashton... She's all grown up and has left the nest!!!!! You'll have to change your blog title now Cheryl.... OH how life has changed in your household. I know you are very proud of her.
Hugs,
Betsy
How wonderful, Cheryl! Now you'll get to see what she's up to all the time. Our kids check our blog to make sure we're being good and not doing anything crazy.
Lucy: Yes, I think this is Ashton's declaration that she is ready to become even more independent (I sometimes wondered if I brought her up to be just a wee bit too independent)and now I will "follow" her on her journey!
Lin: Your comment says it perfectly!
Betsy: It sure has been a week or so of much change in the Lorrain/Nickerson household! And you know what, change IS good. Instead of me being so teary this week I am starting to learn that this empty nest business is gonna be o.k.! Thanks for your nice comment. What shall I change the name to?
Kay: Your comment made me chuckle about your children keeping check on you! Hmm..the tables HAVE turned haven't they for me??
Aw, how sweet! Y'all will be able to keep up with eachother when there is not time for a telephone call! I intend to follow it! It will take me back to Alexis' college days. The first year was the hardest. It gets easier after that. :)
I think it's great that Ashton is starting her own blog -- I'll have to check it out. Before they both lost their sight, my parents kept us with us by checking our blogs each day.
How about "Me and Mine"... Since you are big into family, those 'minie' can stand for the family along with other things that you love...
Then you could change your 'handle' name from Cheryl/Ashton --just to Cheryl (or something of your choosing)...
Just a thought. You don't have to change it before you are ready to do so though..
Hugs,
Betsy
