Beautiful Saturday in Rangeley

Ahhh...this is the life! Last night we decided that we would head up to the Rangeley Lake area. My oldest son had stayed in a cabin on the Lake last weekend and suggested that Mark and I might like to spend a day there. We had about 2 1/2 hour drive here today.
We are in a cabin that is literally on the side of the lake. We sat on the porch for a couple of hours, soaking up the sun. It was perfect!
This is the view from the cabin's porch.
Found a heart-shaped rock on a nearby trail.
We hiked "Cascade Fallsl Gorge" later this afternoon. It was quite a rocky and steep climb but well worth what we found at the end. This tree was right beside the gorge.
Just a glimpse of what we had to climb!
This fall was so pretty. I could feel a little spray from it on my face. We spent quite a bit of time just sitting on the rocks and relaxing. I thought of my blogger friends Betsy and George!
Sunset view from our cabin tonight. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Wow Cheryl, What a neat place and WATERFALL. You knew that I'd love that one.. I love waterfalls that cascade down over rock stair-steps. NEAT!!!!

Beautiful pictures--and I'd love to see there viewing that lake. The colors up there are wonderful also... Fall is coming.
Hugs,
Betsy

What a great place for to spend a weekend (or longer)! Your sunset picture is gorgeous, but the waterfall is my favorite. You've found something we'll have to add to our 'go see' list! Thanks.

Hi Cheryl,

What a lovely cabin! I love the porch. You and hubby look so content. Your pictures of the view are really good. The lake is beautiful! I love the heart-shaped rock. Yes, the climb was worth it. The sunset is a perfect way to end such a lovely day.

p.s. Lucy gives purrs to Buddy. :)

Looks like you two have found a great get-away spot. The photos are wonderful; I especially love the one of the feet up on the railing. Clever shot.

My gosh what a magnificent place to stay. Wow. Would that be a place to retire too? I think so. A cuppa every morning with the daily dose of news on the laptop in your lap with the cat napping at your chair. Listening to the water. Such really nice photography.

Thanks for visiting my Canon Photography blog.
