Friday-Staycation day #3

Loved the "green" doghouse and dog at the entrance to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens www.MaineGardens.org. Friday started out with gray skies but no rain so we decided to head out for some walking in the always beautiful gardens. We were tickled when the sun peeked out and stayed out for the rest of the day.

Cobweb Houseleek in the Haney Hillside Garden.
A sunbather...

Deer sculpture and water lilies in the Slater Forest Pond.
Skunk Cabbage sculpture in the Lerner Garden of the Five Senses.
This looks like a ferris wheel at the county fair....we spent several hours walking through the gardens. A great day!

Fun, beautiful photos, Cheryl. Thanks for sharing it with us. That last flower was very interesting.

Thanks Lin and Kay for your always nice comments. Yes I agree Lin, the sunshine DID seem happy that day, it sure made me appreciate it alot more after its disappearance for three weeks!

Now I must get back to the Maine Coastal Botanical Gardens before the summer is over...now that summer has finally arrived, that is!

I wish I could have gone there while we were up! The weather was almost completely uncooperative though...hopefully, next year!

Jean: Lets make a date and spend a day there.

Melissa: Definitely a must see for your next visit, I am sure the girls (as well as you) would be enchanted by the Fairy Village.
