Enjoy!

I have walked through the field where I shot this photo of milkweed almost daily for five years. I can't imagine why I never really noticed the blooms on the plants and upon closer view, how intricate the blossoms were. It made me think how easily I can overlook little things that really aren't so little! It also made me realize how much I need to slow down and just enjoy whats around me. Beginnings....

progress...

getting to its goal...

of brightening my day!

The tandem team....
Two pileated woodpeckers have been in our yard off and on since November. The first time I ever saw pileateds was when the pair arrived in November. They showed up every so often all winter and yesterday they visited again.
Checking the menu perhaps, before indulging?

I met my Aunt Jean and Uncle Ken at a flea market on Sunday. I browsed happily amongst all the many tables and found a treasure. This apron is beautiful, embrodiered so neatly and of course, reflects my love for the Caribbean! For the mere price of $6.00 it was mine to bring home. I won't use it for its intended purpose but think I will frame it to hang with a couple of prints we brought home from our last visit in Jamaica.
I've arrived-for the second time! My photo of BuddyTheElf and Mark gazing off into space/day dreaming/whatever was published in the newsletter of the Land Trust. http://bbrlt.org/.

Great pictures, Cheryl, and that's so neat that the picture of Buddy and Mark was published! I drooled over your apron...I love aprons and have quite a collection at this point...I wear one every day!

Oh, neat! I'm not surprised you photo of Mark and the Budster was chosen for the Land Trust newsletter, You're going to become Anselina Adams before you know it. The apron is adorable, isn't it? Whoever did the careful embroidery would be so glad her apron is now owned by someone who appreciates her work.

Great photo of the Pileated woodpeckers. I love those birds and dream of them sometime coming to my backyard but so far and since 1962 there has only been on come across the street from where we live and I almost went nuts until I got a picture of it. As so often, the things we don't have are more important than dealing with all the things we got.

Thanks for stopping at my blog and making history with me. Pick a peck of pixels is off to a good start but 10,000 visitors is a long way off. Tell your friends about what I am trying to do.

Hi Cheryl, Thanks for visiting my blog. I am enjoying looking at yours. We have Pileated Woodpeckers here also. One time recently, one of those big guys came to the suet feeder near my computer room window. Shocked me since he is so big.... They don't come to the feeders often.

Thanks again for coming to my blog. Come back anytime.

Hugs,
Betsy
