An Icy Sunset!

Yesterday the sunset was very pretty. I had spotted the icicle earlier in the day so thought the sunset would be a lovely backdrop for snapping a photo or two of it and I love the challenge of trying to capture a falling drop! The first photo shows a drop at the very end of the icicle...
Almost ready to drop...

And there it goes!

Neat Cheryl.... I love seeing that icicle do its 'drip'.... Bet that was hard to capture... It's kinda like me trying to take a picture of a Chickadee... ha

Having fun with your camera! That's something I like to do too.

Oh how funny, Cheryl! We did the same thing last year in Illinois and I posted about it. The neighbors must have thought we were crazy hanging out the window and trying to get a good shot of a falling drop. LOL

OMG... the icy stalagtite is so beautiful, but i definitely wouln't want to walk under it. It might hit the head and give me a concussion on my head!

Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures. I love them very much. Where do you live? A year ago, I was in Michigan and I have seen a lot of these icycles there. I convinced my husband to move here in Florida because I can't bear the cold anymore, and the funny thing is, it gets colder here this year, too. It even snows on some part. :)

Beautiful, peaceful sunset, Cheryl! But the Icicle really stole the drama with its cute little documentation that culminated in that clear shot of the droplet! Good capture! Love it!

Hi Cheryl, Wow! You caught a dropping icicle droplet!
Maybe I should try taking pics like this, instead of, ha ha ha....
Outstanding shot! Never seen one like this.

Talking about icicles, one about 2 feet long, dropped down two feet away from me as I was waiting for my wife outside a store couple of weeks back.

I guess the MAN up there rejected my resume, ha ha, if that icicle had not missed me? Its game over, ha ha.
Hows the weather your side of the woods?
Here its chilly, around -10'c.
Was -21'c few nights ago.

Can't complain as it is beautiful see snow turn to icebergs....already my Lincoln's one tail pipe is bent...
You stay warm and have a great week, and watch forfalling icicles, Lee.
