First Themed Dinner

Saturday night was the first of hopefully many themed dinner nights with my sister and her family, my family and our mom. The dish in the foreground was a Mexican Chicken Lasagna dish that I made. It is a very hearty dish, has a little "kick" to it and was well-liked! My sister made a bean dip and delicious enchiladas, Ashton made her favorite Mexican rice dish and made virgin margaritas for all and Robyn, my niece made yummy Mexican Cinnamon Chips with coffee ice cream for dessert. It was fun to try out a couple of different dishes as well as a new dessert and everyone seemed to enjoy the meal. There weren't many left-overs!
Eric, Ashton's boyfriend, is waiting patiently to get his dinner.
Ashton and her oldest brother Courtney. Benjamin and Allison were unable to attend due to Ben's working during the Portland Pirates hockey game that night. Hopefully he will have a night off for our next themed dinner.
Here is my sister Margaret and her family. Robbie, Miss Tiz, Margaret and Robyn.
My mom was away during the holidays this year so we had a second Christmas Day with her last night.
My oldest son Courtney and my mom. We haven't decided yet what the theme will be for our next dinner but I am sure we will come up with something very delicious!

Had a GREAT time, hope that Ben and Allison can come next time! How about a "noodle inspired" dinner next time. Away from the basic spaghetti and meatballs!! Can I have a copy of the picture of us!

What a great idea! But I don't have much family close by.

Hmmm...noodles?? That works as I found some more great receipes in the magazine I got the Mexican Chicken Lasagna from! I cannot find the photo of you all, guess I will make one from the post!

Bernie: I'm glad to have you stop by. Yes, my sister and I just decided to try to get together more often, with such busy lives its easy to let families take a back seat. So now we are off and running!

Linda Reeder: My sister and I are very, very close as well as our children are very close. Heck, I even had my daughter on her wedding day--what a nice gift for her huh??

Hello Cheryl, Wow! Can see you have a Black Belt in cooking.
And this the first time I read of 'themed dinners', ha ha. Hmmm, very original, I must say.

Very nice to see you and family members having a great time.
Any more of that Mexican dish left? Ha ha.
You stay easy, keep a song in your heart and have a pleasant week, Lee.

How cool is that? We started taco nights last year. Once a month, we make tacos and sometimes we add nachos and chips to the mix. My favorite Mexican dish is chicken enchiladas. I think it's really great to have family nights once in a while to hang out and catch up on each other hectic lives.
