Oh my word. Today we received our first Christmas card! Guess this means the holiday season is upon us.

Here is my best buddy "BuddyTheElf" supervising the checking of email! For the past couple of weeks he has taken to sitting at my feet and making a "noise" until I let him jump up onto my lap. He sits quietly while I use the laptop. I don't know as if he is reading what I blog about or the funny jokes in my email or what I order on-line for Christmas presents....

There were ten of us gathered yesterday for a big turkey dinner. However there were only nine who actually sat down with friends and family. Mark was the only tech working yesterday at the hospital and was working 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then be on call for emergencies until 6:30 a.m. today. He never got home until well after 6:30 p.m. He called and insisted we go ahead and eat, as long as there would be a plate filled for him to enjoy when he did arrive home. In this photo there is from the left side Eric and Ashton, my oldest son Courtney at the head of the table, my mom (who made Ashton "Grammy's carrots" as Ashton calls them)Ben (my middle child) and Allison his girlfriend.

From the left are Courtney, my mom, Benjamin and Allison, Brian and Pat (only her head is showing)and they are Eric's parents. Another glimpse of Eric and Ashton as well. My dishwasher wasn't washing so I agonized over whether I should use paper plates and cups for days! In the end I chose to go with disposable plates and cups, however they were "crystal" so didn't look too bad! I stopped short of using disposable silverware though. I used several dishes that my mom has given me. They mean so much to me as they brought back memories of past holiday meals.

And....here is Buddy modeling his new
LLBean suede jacket. The days are getting cooler and cooler so its time for him to bundle up. I don't think he is as impressed by it as I am.

I think it's fairly obvious that Buddy sits in your lap while you're on the computer in order to try to find out what Santa is bringing him. He looks smashing in his suede coat. Putting Molly in a coat would be as easy as trying to herd kittens, I fear. You had a lot of folks at your Thanksgiving table! That's wonderful. Aren't you glad, though, that it's over and done with? I'm afraid I always feel a sense of relief.
I am smelling Christmas.
I am smelling your Turkey.
WOW..Looks like a lovely Thanksgiving dinner? turkey and all? hmmmm... yummy...
Buddy didnt look too happy bec he was left out at the table perhaps? LOL...
great to have family together but sometimes grandkids get to be a little too much after awhile...time to head home...
There were a total of ten at our table yesterday, also. Son-in-law didn't make it, he had to work at the hospital till 7am and decided to sleep at home rather than come here and try to sleep with a ten and nine year old in the house playing. Plus he had to go back and work last night from 7pm until 7am today. We had way too much food. We also used paper plates, and plastic cups, but I held off on the plastic forks and spoons and used regular silverware. If I had been to this one store that sells the really nice heavy duty plastic forks, spoons and knives I would have used them, but these weren't that heavy duty. Thank goodness not much going on this next week, hair cut for me, mammogram on Friday, Abe has blood work on Friday, but that's the only appointments we have. Have a nice week-end.
Isn't that something when you received your first Christmas card? Kinda like an uh-oh Christmas is upon us. I'm contemplating whether I should put up my tree today or over the weekend. And Buddy! Such a cute and obedient dog!
Looks like you alll had a marvelous Thanksgiving, Cheryl. Sorry Mark had to work--but I'm glad you all saved him a plate!!!!

I just loved all your Thanksgiving photos, Cheryl. I LOVE your kitchen. It's so cheery and homey and beautiful. I can see why everybody is smiling so much. You're motivating me to take more photos tomorrow of our Thanksgiving celebration, 2 days late.
