Colorful berries

Today was a sunny and cool day so Buddy and I headed to town to walk one of the land trust's many trails.

Berries here, there and everywhere! I love the different shades of red.

This bright red apple caught my eye. There it hung, all by its lonesome!
I love the colors of the bittersweet. I recently learned that it is an invasive plant and can take over one's yard. I do think it is one of the prettiest of fall's flowers.

Beautiful fall colors. I didn't know such beauty exists! I don't get to see nature's beauty like you. It's such a pleasure looking at them. Thanks for sharing.

Rose Belle: Thanks for commenting. I am very fortunate to live where the seasons change. Fall is beautiful here, however I do look forward to the spring blossoms appearing in April/May!

Lucy the Cat: Glad you enjoyed the photos. It was a perfect day to take them. Buddy says thanks for the hug Lucy and one back to you!

Hi Cheryl, beautiful well taken shots. By the way, where there are berries, there are bears.
None of these fellows where you are?
I love berries....in cakes of out of cakes....and favourite cake, 'fruit cake'....

I get to eat a lot as some friends get them for X'mas but not going overboard for it will give to me...
You have a pleasant week Cheryl, best regards, Lee.
PS...

Bear Warning Sign: The Canadian Forest Service has issued a BEAR WARNING in the national forests for this summer.

They're urging everyone to protect themselves by wearing bells and carrying pepper spray.
Campers should be alert for signs of fresh bear activity, and they should be able to tell the difference between Black Bear dung and Grizzy Bear dung.

Black Bear dung is rather small and round. Sometimes you can see fruit seeds and or squirrel fur in it.
Grizzly Bear dung has bells in it, and smells like pepper spray!

Quite an assortment of berries. Nice fall photos. Stay out of the woods until deer hunting is over. I would probably stay indoors period.

That reminds me I still have some bittersweet left out back. I also have one crab apple tree that was real productive and in spite of repeated flocks of robins landing on it, there are a lot of miniature apples left to eat on the tree.

You got some wonderful pictures of the fall berries. It's too bad the bittersweet is invasive.

We don't have bittersweet here, but invasive or not, I wish we did.

Oh, I love all those red Cheryl! Lovely photos. The way you framed it showed much of the red, making each photo so pretty! :)

Betsy from Tennessee: I too have been thinking of the abundance of berries for the birds this fall.

Lin Floyd: I do live in a lovely area and enjoy sharing my photos. Thanks for stopping by!

Kay: Glad you stopped by. I am pleased my photos brought back memories! Today its raining with snow mixed in.

Uncle Lee: Where I live on the coast there are no bears. However in the northern part of the state there are plenty. However, last week a bear appeared at a bee hive in a town about 20 minutes from here, image was copied by a backyard camera. Too close for comfort for me! Thank you for stopping by and sharing the bear "news".

Wenn: Hi there, glad you stopped by.

reanaclaire: These berries are not ones we can consume. The birds certainly will though! Glad you came by.

Pete: Thanks for your comment, glad you visited.

Patty: Believe me I do stay indoors as much as possible, there are woods behind the house and its a popular spot to hunt. I used to make the children wear orange hats if they were outside.

Abraham Lincoln: The trail I was walking on when I snapped the berry photos has lots of apple trees in one of its fields. It seems they are just loaded with apples this year.

George: Glad you visited. I think bittersweet is very pretty and just recently have learned that it is invasive.

Linda Reeder: I too wish I had bittersweet on my property, I usually have to buy it in the silk flower form!

Tes: Thank you very much for the lovely comment. Glad you enjoyed the photos.
