I smile to myself whenever I look at this photo. We were out for an after- dinner walk on one of the many land trust trails in our area. Mark and BuddyTheElf walked out onto the bridge and luckily I had my camera handy. This moment is priceless! Mark was unaware I was snapping the photo and I am pretty sure Bud was too!
Here is evidence that proves Ashton can/does talk constantly....even during dinner and on two phones at once! I suppose I should have sent her to her room without dinner for the infraction....

Here is another frequent guest at the feeders. It appeared last night for dinner and again this morning for breakfast.
How neat is this photo of a hummingbird?! My Aunt Jean had mentioned getting her hummingbird feeders ready for their imminent arrival so it prompted me to get two feeders up and running. Literally within a few minutes of hanging them I had a ruby-throated hummingbird! I haven't "caught" him with my camera yet. However I sat on the steps the other night and was rewarded with some great shots of this one.
How can one not smile at nature's beauty? I think these are just as pretty as a big bouquet of expensive flowers. There is so much beauty around us in every day life. I found the first yellow Ladyslipper I've ever seen when walking a couple of days ago.
Found the pink Ladyslipper last night as well as these pretty light cream-colored ones.

What makes you smile?

What makes me smile? All your photos made me smile for sure. I love all those photos of the hummingbirds and flowers. I wish we had hummingbirds in Hawaii. I love wildflowers best, too. My favorite photo is the first. Lucky you had your camera to catch that adorable moment. Too too precious!
What a great collection of photos, Cheryl. Each one is a gem. Love the one of Mark and Buddy watching the current. Mrs. Ruby-throated seems to be enjoying the feeder. If she seems to disappear soon, don't worry; she'll be sitting on her nest and will reappear after the babies are hatched.
The photo of Buddy and Mark on the bridge is priceless! I love it!
Every spring I look forward to the arrival of the hummingbirds. :) I have a feeder hanging right outside my kitchen window - they are so fun to watch. We had quite a following about two years ago, at any given time there were 4 or more birds around the feeder. They can get quite pushy with one another! If we are very still we can usually sit beneath the feeder and watch the 'air show' in the evenings... :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE the one of Mark and "son"! You really need to invest in a high quality printer and start going to craft fairs selling the photo's! You take BEAUTIFUL pictures. The girls and I have started our traditional hunt every morning to see if the lady slippers are out - not yet here!
