Graduation is near!

This is a bouquet of candy that my friend Ashlee gave me. Since Monday was a holiday, Tuesday and Wednesday were my last two days of school. On Tuesday, I had Spanish and English. In Spanish, we had a fiesta and we all brought in a type of food. My spanish teacher (that I have had since KINDERGARTEN) was so upset to see me go. She bought each of her seniors a bouquet of Tootsie pops. That was when my friend Ashlee gave me this cute present! In English, we had ice cream and watched a Romeo & Juliet movie that we have been working on since March. It turned out pretty well. Not a Paramount or anything though.

Wednesday was my last day (sad!) and I had Accounting and Anatomy & Physiology. How lovely we didn't do anything fun or celebrate in either of those classes. I took a final in accounting even though I have a 94 average in that class. In Anatomy & Physiology, I put finishing touches on a lab report (18 pages) that I ended up doing 100% of the work for. And guess what? I got an 88 on it!! GO ME!
This morning was my first day of Graduation and Grand March practice. It went horribly to be honest. Not a single one of us was on beat. We messed up big time. I did alright until it was time for the stairs. I wasn't sure whether or not to step LEFT TOGETHER, RIGHT TOGETHER,... or just waltz up like I owned the place. I waltzed up and messed the rest of the line up. Sorry guys! Maybe tomorrow I'll do better. Oh, and if anyone cares, my ankle held up wonderfully! I wasn't one of the stuck up popular girls who thought it would be so much fun to waddle around and not be able to walk and end up taking their shoes off. Sorry girls, you'd better find new shoes or get used to it because I don't think the marching line is going to stop for you to "relieve" your feet. Oh well. Grandmarch went fairly well for the first time practicing. Back tomorrow to get back to the old grind.
Today, before practice, I had to finish my accounting final. And after, I went and had lunch with my "little" in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. I bought him a luncheable and gave him a small gift. I've been this young boy's mentor for three years! I sure am gonna miss the kiddo. After that, I decorated the school nurse's bulletin board. Why, you ask? Well, I've been shadowing her throughout the second half of the school year since I want to become a nurse. I thought it would be a nice end-of-the-year final to jazz up her plain bulletin board. So, technically, today was my last day of school. There's now a HUGE weight lifted off my shoulders.
Sunday will be the Baccaulaurete(sp?) at the Congregation Church at 2 pm. The Alumni Dinner will be at Fisherman's Wharf at 6 pm. Tuesday is the Masonic cookout. Thursday is a busy day! Teacher awards, practice, setting up for graduation, Mani/Pedi (Thanks Mom!), and scholar awards. One week from tomorrow (Friday) is the BIG DAY! Class day is at 8, Graduation at 2, party following graduation, my hair appointment in at 5, and Grand March at 8! I hope to see you all there and thank you for all of you support during this exciting time in my life!

Oh, and when I first heard the Pomp and Circumstance today, tears weld up in my eyes. I better keep some tissues handy on the BIG day.

Oh Tun...you almost had me in tears reading your post, especially when you said you got a little "teary" at Pomp and Circumstance! How are we going to make it through Graduation?? Tomorrow at Sam's Club we will buy an industrial sized crate of tissues. I am willing to bet Auntie will want some as well!

I remember when we practiced our Grand March...I think Mrs. Crocker nearly swore and promised it was the worst practice EVER! But it gets better. ;)

Enjoy all the graduation festivities - each one is so special!
