A Most Wonderful M(i)ther's Day!

Mother's Day festivities started early here as I mentioned in my previous post. Ashton gave me an early present of the tote bag on Friday before leaving on her vacation trip. These flowers are from my dear husband. He "bought" me the beautiful Coach bag a week or so ago and I was happy with it being a "Mother's Day" present. Each year he has given me a gift and card for Mother's day, even though he is the childrens' stepdad. I love the little bird he bought to tuck into the plant, he knows how interested I have become in birds this winter and spring.
Ben arrived from Portland to spend the afternoon with me. We had a nice visit. This Red Sox shirt was my gift.
Here is the back of the shirt! Love it! Later Ben and Buddy spent some quality time in the backyard, Buddy wading into the brook to retrieve sticks that Ben threw for him. The dog loves the salty, muddy, chilly water but hates a nice warm bath in the whirlpool tub-go figure. And Buddy did end up having a bath to finish up his busy day.
My special day continued with a visit from Courtney. He gave me a great gift of a gardener's apron with lots of pockets. It is just what I need for all the gardening I have been doing the past few days. HOWEVER....the highlight of his visit was when he tackled the leaking kitchen sink! We arrived home from shopping late last night, I opened the cabinet door to put away some cleaning products and noticed the cabinet floor was wet. Long story short, it was flooded. I took everything (as you can see I cram alot into that space!)out, wiped everything down, and put lots and lots of towels into the cupboard to soak up the water. I shut the water off and when Courtney called, said he would have a "look" when he came today. Court found that the culprit was the spray attachment, a pin-hole leak was the cause.
So Courtney's Mother Day visit with me was spent primarily under the sink! Thanks Court for saving the day.
On a lighter note I found the first buttercup(I think) of the spring on the lawn today.
And for the play on the spelling of Mother in the title-its the name Ben gave me years ago and still uses.

P.S. I noticed that Ashton has just posted an update on her vacation on the previous post. She has only texted me about 50 times since Friday...alot less than I thought she would (!). However, I see that she is going for a helicopter ride, that is the first I have heard about that! Good for you Ashton, enjoy all you can and please send photos!

Mark is much more than a step dad - he's become their dad! You're so lucky to have found him. I'm LOVING the shirt how cute. Yay to Courtney for fixing the sink......did you ever purchase "flood" insurance"? ;) Sounds like you had the perfect day! LOVE YA!!

You had a great Mother's Day, Cheryl. Love the flowers from Mark. I was browsing my LL Bean catalogue last night and think I spotted the tote bag from Ashton. I'm sure Buddy enjoyed the quality time with his brother, and I can fully understand your deep appreciation of Courtney's leaky sink repair!
