A little bit of everything...

We have become accustomed over the years to having people stop at the head of our driveway, park their cars and walk out across the bridge to take photos of the pretty view. The first photo is looking out onto Cross River which eventually flows into the ocean. We have kayaked it several times and it is very peaceful and quiet. This photo is looking towards our property. Last weekend a car stopped, out jumped a couple of people to take photos. I was gardening and thought I heard someone yelling. Looking at the bridge I spotted a young woman with her camera in hand. She yelled again and told me I had a beautiful property and how lucky I was. I thanked her-loudly! I guess what I'm trying to convey is that one stranger took the time to give me a nice compliment. I try to give at least one compliment daily and how nice would it be if everyone did the same? All it takes is a few words and if it brightens someone's day how great is that?Monday was Memorial Day. Mark and I decided to take a ride over a couple of peninsulas to Pemaquid Point. It was a very pretty day and the ocean was sparkling under the sun. The Pemaquid Point lighthouse is on the Maine state quarter. Pemaquid Point was where I first saw the ocean at the tender age of 10. I grew up in central Maine and normally saw cows, farms and mountains. I fell in love right then and there with the ocean. My life came full circle and I live close to the ocean. I cannot imagine living anywhere else. Unless of course its in the Caribbean... While we were walking along the road near the lighthouse this absolutely gorgeous tree caught my eye. The tree was bursting with big blossoms and the color so vivid. The "boys" walked along the shoreline for a bit. They tend to stick together!

Those ARE beautiful shots of your property, Cheryl. Great ones of Pemaquid, too. I haven't been to Pemaquid in years. I often think, when I drive by someone's especially pretty property, that I should stop and tell the owner how pretty it is. Maybe I'll do that one day.
