I have a few minutes of down time... it's been raining on and off today. I thought I would post a few stories and pictures of my trip so far.
We left around 2:00 Friday afternoon and arrived in Fredericksburg, Virginia around 2:30 Saturday morning. We stayed at a sketchy hotel, but only until about 9:00 am. We packed up and headed even more south! We got to Darlington, South Carolina around 3:00 pm Saturday and met up with Matthew and Maddie (Eric's brother and his girlfriend) and the four of us went to the NASCAR race.

On to Myrtle Beach. We didn't arrive there until 3:30 in the morning! We showered and headed to be around 4. It was AMAZING to fall asleep with the balcony door open, hearing the waves crashing on the beach. Here is the view from our balcony.
Yesterday, there was a brief shower but not enough to keep us away from the beach. The water was seriously like bath water. Pat, Eric , and I boogie-boarded for close to two hours without getting out ONCE! Ahhhhh....For dinner last night we went to a place called Dick's Last Resort. Basically, everyone that works like there acts like a "dick." They're rude and poorly mannered. They threw our straws and utensils at us and made us feel stupid. It was neat. Kind of like a psychology experiment. Sorta. Anyways, after they serve your dinner they make hats out of paper that have insults and they put them on you. Take a look:
My hat says: Ask me about my explosive diarrhea. Eric's says: Even my hand rejects me.
Yikes! It was a fun experience though.
This morning, Patricia, Maddie, and I went and got a manicure and pedicure. Oh it was so nice. Every woman deserves a mani/pedi AT LEAST once a week. ;)
This afternoon, Matthew, Maddie, Eric, and I went go-karting. It was so fun!! I lost everytime and even ended up with a piece of rubber from the tire stuck in my teeth. Don't know how that one happened.
Tonight, we plan on eating at Margaritaville. YAY! Tomorrow at 1, Eric and I have an appointment to go PARASAILING. EEK! So excited! Hope all is well with everyone. Talk again soon!

Sounds as if you are having a wonderful, fun-filled time. I see you are getting a nice tan. Only you could get rubber from a tire in your teeth :) And you are right, EVERY woman should have the luxury of a mani-pedi weekly or at least monthly! Have fun parasailing and send photos! Love you Tunny Buns!
OMG!! You must have had your mouth wide open catching the "rubber." I love the hats haha...... there is a place in florida like that.

OH the view is absolutely HEAVENLY!! I'm so jealous!! Hope you can take a picture while parasailing - that will be awesome!
Isn't it the most wonderful thing to be able to follow along with Ashton on her trip? It's fun for me, it must be twice as much for you. I wish all children would do for their mothers what Ashton is doing for you. You can feel happier knowing they're safe and having a good time.
MOM'S DISCLAIMER: I am NOT responsible for whatever Ashton posts during her vacation :) I was a little, shall we say, sqeamish about the hat photos....I guess when you are 17 its a hoot to laugh about "bodily functions"! But on the other hand I am so very pleased that Ashton is having such a great time, ah to be 17 again.....
