Happy Holidays

Christmas Eve was busy here. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care and Ashton Anne checked to make sure Santa Claus could make it down the chimney!

Then Ashton prepared a batch of white chocolate-covered pretzels to share at our annual Christmas Eve gathering at my sister Margaret's home. Ashton and I did quality control on some of the pretzels and we unanimously declared them yummy! Needless to say, they disappeared fast after dinner. Elizabeth, my niece, saved two of the pretzels and put them on a plate that she would leave out for Santa that night. Lucky guy!

Christmas Eve afternoon Benjamin and Allison came to exchange gifts. They both pick the perfect gifts and we say Thank You again. We enjoyed Allison's being able to join us on Christmas Eve and later on at Margaret's.

Then on to Margaret's house for our traditional Christmas Eve visit. We have munchies, dinner and dessert and then exchange gifts. It was fun to see Elizabeth eagerly ripping open her gifts. She was very festively dressed in a red velvet dress, she changed earlier in the evening from a white dress with gold trim! One must always look their best when entertaining! She was constantly checking the computer to track Santa as he made his rounds. When we got home later that night Tiz called and said to tell Ashton to get to bed, as Santa was already in Georgia!

Elizabeth's cousin Courtney gave her a Nerf blaster which she promptly loaded. No one escaped her! I think this shot of the beautifully dressed gal and her blaster is a hoot.

Poor Socks! She had had enough of the party and fell asleep with her antlers on.

Then home to put Santa's plate and milk glass under the tree.

The next day we spent time with Mark's grandmother. We also spent time with his step-mother and family. We always enjoy the huge breakfast that Lee prepares, we all contribute something to it. Its a wonderful tradition. After all the festivities were over, Mark and I came home and snowshoed. We had a nice afternoon outside. It was a great relaxer after the hustle and bustle of the past two days.
