Grateful indeed

There is so much I have to be grateful for....a lovely home with a big star on the door....
A chance at a happy "rest of my life"!

I can paint my nails whatever color I want, when I want....
Blessed with three wonderful children....who are loved to pieces!
BuddyTheElf of course!
My sister, mom and my two nieces who live just minutes from us.
Finding a tree trunk with a "star" in it, on one of the many trails we are so fortunate to have here.
Spotting a "green heron" recently beside the brook..

Where gifts from nature are as close as my garden....
A young visitor to the yard....
A chance to delight in this scene!
And a guest in our backyard a couple of hours ago! I am so very thankful that I live in a country where I am free to come and go as I please and have so many opportunities that so many don't. I can sleep at night without noises of guns and war, and where I can worship who I want where I want, have plenty to eat and have a comfortable home where it is peaceful, a huge yard that is green and full of flowers....I am truly blessed. Have a great Fourth of July everyone!

Yes, so many of us are truly blessed. But some don't even realize it until it's too late. Sounds like you are one happy lady. I to am glad I live in a country where I don't have to worry about guns, war, lack of food or water. We have a nice home to live in and a family that loves one another. Very nice neighbors and friends. Have a great 4th.

Fabulous, Cheryl.... You are so right... Don't you think though that we are a spoiled nation---and take all of these things for granted???? We need to get on our knees and thank the God above for all of the wonderful things in our lives.

Both you and I are praying for GOOD HEALTH now more than ever... Hope you all have a wonderful Holiday weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

What a lovely post with beautiful images and heart felt thoughts. Yes, we are free and it is the best place to live in the world. Not that there aren't other wonderful places, ours is just so very special. I think more and more people are realizing how important it is to become involved in being grateful for and keeping that freedom.

Happy Birthday, USA!

Lois

I would have to agree with all of those blessings that I have as well. The Fourth of July is a good time to remember not to take them for granted.

Awesome post, Cheryl! Yes, you are blessed with a wonderful life. We are all blessed to live in this great country. Like Betsy said above, we should be thanking the Lord for all our blessings and the freedom we have here in the US.

Really, I love all of what you said. Thanks for sharing your blessings with us.

I hope you and Mark and your family have a very happy 4th!

What a wonderful post. Thanks for putting it into words and pictures.

I saw at least two February Lady sweaters in the pictures. Does this mean Aunt Jean has been knitting a lot?

You said it so well, Cheryl, that I can't come close to improving on it. All we need to do is see how others live, such as the majority of people in China, to realize how fortunate we are. (I got a kick out of Linda Hillin's comment about the sweaters!) Happy July 4 to you, Mark, and the "kids," including the Budster.

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the lovely comments. I am indeed, a very grateful gal. I have so very much. And then I look at the world around me and think how nice it is to go to sleep in a clean bed without wondering if violence will take it all away...or if I will have enough food for my family, water or electricity, will my children survive diseases to grow up and I think how lucky I am to live in the USA. And Linda, there are indeed February Lady sweaters shown on this post, Aunt Jean has indeed been very busy! My niece received one for her 16th birthday (the lime one) and Aunt Jean surprised me on Ashton's graduation day with the one I have on in our family photo. My other niece has received one in violet, my son's girlfriend and Ashton each received one at Christmas and I have two more myself! One will be going to my mom for her birthday. I am lucky to have an Aunt Jean as well! Haave a wonderful holiday all.

You are absolutely right about all of your 'gifts', and so many people the world over do not have very many of these. I am thankful for the time and place that I was fortunate enough to be born into. God bless the servicemen and women who are away from home, and their parents, too.

Happy Fourth of July to you, Cheryl! You indeed live in a wonderful country. I lived in the US for a couple of years, and though everyone loves their own country. I have to say that the Americans are warm and wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in CA.

It is also wonderful that you are grateful for all the wonderful things you are blessed with. I think, in life so many times, we crib about what we don't have and overlook all the wonderful things and people we are blessed with.

Lovely post!

Simple things in life that are just priceless. Nothing you listed are materialistic things but intangible and priceless things that money can't buy. I love this post. Reminds me to stop and smell the roses and take things slowly.

I am glad that we "met" through Marci. You are blessed to live where you live and be able to do the things you do. I like your byline at the top of the page--Life is really what we make it and it seems you are doing everything you can to make the most of it.
