More bits and pieces....

We have been blessed with several spring-like days. Bright sun, warm temperatures and Mark has even tuned up the mower and has one mowing under his belt. The first of many.
We took a hike late one afternoon last week and I was delighted to find this heart in the rotted tree trunk!. Perfect! You can see BuddyTheElf in the background.
We took another hike on one of our many area trails this weekend. The sky was such a pretty blue with puffy clouds. The temperature was in the high 60s and it almost felt tropical. Found this rock heart on the side of the trail.
We hiked along side this marsh from the parking lot and then into the woods on the right hand side for a bit. I could get used to this kind of a day. We saw one Canadian goose slowly floating around in a small cove.
Spotted the first red-winged blackbird of the season. He was in the marsh when we first arrived but flew up into a tree and preened a bit.
To me these little beauties are more beautiful than a dozen red roses. I like the simpler things!

Another lovely gift to us from Mother Nature. The trail had large areas covered with these sunshiney flowers.
Sorry Mark, but I cannot keep these two photos to myself. BuddyTheElf sits on the footrest whenever Mark is eating/snacking/sneaking something. The dog usually gives Mark away!
I took this photo today before the rain started. Its a lupine on the edge of the little pond and the tiny rain drop reminds me of a snail's shell.
And the trees are coming to life! This photo was also taken earlier today. Life is good!

Hi Cheryl,
What an exceptionally lovely and upbeat post. I love seeing your spring emerging with birds and blooms. You are finding Hearts all over the place - just like my friend, Wanda! That photo of the Lupine leaves and rain drop is magnificent!

Spring brings such beauty where you live. How beautiful. I love the scenery and the various flowers that are blooming.

Enjoyed all the pictures, especially the tiny rain drop.

All your heart shaped pictures remind me of the importance of making a list so you'll notice items you need when you see them. So it is with you and heart shapes. I'd probably never notice but I enjoy seeing your pictures.

We have a begger dog but he's only about ten pounds. It's hard to sneak anything by one the size of yours.

Cheryl, if one isn't in a good mood before they visit your blog, they would have to be happy after. I loved seeing Buddy through the heart shape in the tree trunk. The picture of the water the blue sky and white clouds reflecting in it is fabulous. You can see far and it's just so beautiful. Great job! The little blackbird is so cute. Loved seeing Buddy with Mark! Ah, yes, life is good. It's amazing how many blessings we have, even during sadness. I'm thinking specifically of Bucky. I still miss him so much. Anyway, thanks for sharing all your joys!

Hi Cheryl, like I mentioned before, others take pictures. You creat pictures and your pics no need for words, every picture tells 2000 words.
Outstanding!
Love the pics of your hound and Mark, ha ha. Have a nice day and happy shooting, Lee.

Yes, it's pretty hard sneaking a snack past a dog. LOL No matter how quietly the lid was lifted from this one cookie jar we had, the dog could hear it and would come running.

Now the daughter's cat, more or less ignores people snacking.
