On Wednesday my sister and her two girls and I visited the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. http://www.mainegardens.org/. We spent over six hours browsing the colorful assortment of gardens, wandering through the woods and of course lunch in the Garden Cafe.
This photo is from the simply beautiful Lerner Garden of Senses, which recently opened. This garden alone is well worth the visit there.

The main lawn of the gardens.

Tiz taking a photo of a Fairy House she created in the Fairy Village. She searched for the fairy house she built when I took her to the gardens last fall but no luck. So she built another one.

lovely post enjoyed your photos-looks like a fun day
Your photographs are beautiful. I wish I could help you with naming the dragon fly but I am not that good on those. I just saw on another blog today that the one the person was holding to get a photo close up also bit him pretty good. I didn't even know they would bite.
Hi Cheryl, The gardens where you all visited look gorgeous. We have "Hush Little Baby" in our yard. Isn't it pretty????
As I told you earlier, we're home from a great vacation.. I'll post in the morning.
Hugs,
Betsy
Sorry. Didn't know you wanted to know what the Dragon Fly's name is.
It is a 12-point skimmer. Count the black spots on both wings. Should equal 12.
Betsy: I really liked the Hush Little Baby, lucky you to have them.
Thanks Abe. I was hoping that you would know what the dragonfly was! And yes, it does have 12 spots.
Very beautiful photos. You have a nice blog. Your dog is adorable!
I just had to stop by to see what you were up to and saw your gorgeous post. Wow! The gardens are absolutely lovely! Your photos made me smile with pleasure. Now then..... I need to go take a bath and get to bed. KC will be up early tomorrow morning. Yikes!
wow. a beautiful place. what lovely flowers.
Thanks for taking us along on your visit to this beautiful garden. Thanks, too, for visiting my site.
What gorgeous photographs!!! I love them. Looks like a beautiful place.
I also read that book and loved it!!!
You're probably sick'n'tired of hearing me say this, niece, but you take such wonderful pictures! Looks like the botanical gardens are showing off their beauty again this summer. (I'm loving "The Summer Kitchen.")
