Sweet Memories

I was "attempting" to start spring cleaning when I came upon a box that holds some of the many special mementos Ashton has made for me over the past years. I have many special mementos tucked away that the boys have made for me as well. Here is a pretty pink (her favorite color) box that Ashton made in Art class, probably around second grade.
I found several pins she made in Art class over the years...the Thanksgiving turkey pin out of clay, the turkey made from construction paper, a bear popsicle stick bookmark and a laminated bookmark personalized just for Mom! There is a Halloween pumpkin pin, a ghost pin and a Christmas tree pin she made when she went to a "Teddy Bear Sleepover" at the age of 7. And of course what every Mom cherishes: a necklace made from macaroni, the macaroni carefully handpainted.
Here are two coasters she made (and the dog sampled the corners of) and another bookmark carefully crafted by her with patriotic colors.
Both her stepdad and I treasure the beautiful plaque she carefully crafted for our first wedding anniversary. She made it to represent the Caribbean where we married. I love that she put such care and love into it.
I have to end the post here as I am fighting back tears over the memories of a little girl who is soon to leave the nest! Love you forever and ever Tun!

What neat gifts Ashton has made for you! The macaroni necklace is something I've never seen you WEAR, actually, but perhaps you will have it on the next time I see you. Love the Caribbean plaque.
