In years past when the Peeps showed up on the shelves of stores early in the season I would think that spring was soon to arrive. Now there are Peeps for any occasion, season and taste. My middle child Benjamin is a "Peeps Person", a term I coined. As I collect pretty seasonal cups and colorful holiday socks for Ashton, I collect different colors and types of Peeps for Benjamin! The Peeps now come in every color and size imagineable and for almost every holiday out there. Yes, there were Christmas Peeps to be had this past season. They were in the forms of snowmen (snow people?) and Christmas (Holiday?) trees for example. I am amazed at the variety and colors of Peeps. I remember as a small child how excited I would be to get a few "Peeps" at Easter. They were one kind and one color-yellow.

I snapped this photo while snowshoeing today. There is plenty of snow in the woods around us so I think there is another week or so of snowshoeing ahead of me. The green of the little "thingys" was so striking against the snow. Maybe its so striking because anything colorful against its whiteness now captures my attention more readily!

This is a photo of a culvert's opening into the brook behind our house. When the water starts running fast its another sure sign that Spring can't be too far away. The contrast of the icicles against the running water caught my eye.

And yes, I did take this photo today! The green grass survived the snows of winter somehow. It looked "brave" there!

Oh yikes! Peeps! I used to just LOVE peeps but I can't have them anymore. Sigh.
I love that photo of the green poking a hole in the snow. It's almost defiant saying it's Spring's turn now.
Haven's Candies sells chocolate-dipped Peeps, Cheryl. Sound sort of sacrilegious but delicious, don't they? Your signs of spring are very encouraging.
peeps.....nasty.Cadbury eggs are the only way to go.Its like eating a Hershey's kiss without dealing with all the tinfoil.Uh oh I think I have caused three copyright infringements by commenting on candy.Remember plastic eggs with quarters in them hidden in Paul Barter's well house and M&M's on the window sill?
Thanks for the shot of green grass,Maybe you should forward a copy of that to Wall street and Washington.
