Rock hearts and tulips

When Ashton, Benjamin and I were a small family a few years ago, we started a hobby of collecting heart-shaped rocks. It started out when someone found a rock during one of our weekly picnics on the rocks at Ocean Point and thought it looked similar to a heart. We all kept an eye out whenever we were at the shore for a special rock. We have collected many over the years. A dear family friend, Louise, found a heart-shaped piece of brick along the beach down south a few years ago and added it to our collection. Once Mark joined our family the hunt intensified for hearts. We find the rocks on our hikes all over and even find one on occasion in the driveway. Its a fun hobby for sure.

Here are some photos I have been meaning to share. Aren't these tulips gorgeous? Mark's grandmother, Nana May, sent us a tulip bouquet for our seventh wedding anniversary three weeks ago. The bouquet lasted alot longer than the roses Mark sent me! I love tulips and carnations as much as roses, maybe even more!

I was waiting for you to try to tell us that the tulips were blooming in your flower garden, but I guess you realized we just wouldn't buy that story. They're beautiful, aren't they? And I love your heart-shaped rocks collection. I bet I'll now start seeing heart-shaped rocks everywhere I go....

P.S. I spotted a heart-shaped rock while out walking this morning and had to fight to resist the urge to bring it home.

Its amazing how "heart-shaped" rocks seem to just appear Aunt Jean! We even have an outside collection of larger rocks which border a garden.

I love your tulip photos. It made me smile just to look at them. Your heart rock collection is so cool! What fun! I collect rocks, too but I didn't think to look for a certain shape. What a great idea!
