I miss...

With the holiday season approaching (at least the stores and tv ads are saying so!) I have been remembering how I loved to shop for the perfect holiday dress for Ashton. I found this photo recently and it brought back such happy memories. I would search high and low for a perfect velvet dress for Christmas. One year it might be deep green or another year a rich red color, she has even worn black. The dress had to have lace on it as well. Then once the dress was found, on to the shoe department for the perfect pair of dress shoes. The shoes had to be black patent leather. Ashton loved the sound of the shoes on the bare floors! And no outfit would be complete without the tights, usually white with a lacy pattern.
She looked so pretty in her finery. Sadly, Ashton no longer allows me to dress her up!

What an adorable picture! And why Ashton no longer lets you, her mother, choose her clothes is beyond me, honestly! I can see why you miss those days.

If you look very closely you can see a halo! Ashton was probably about 3ish at the time. I forgot to mention that lacy socks also were part of the holiday "decor".

omigosh there is a halo!! I remember that dress, actually probably one of mine wore it! I too miss the velvet dresses, tights and shoes. Hey, maybe we should completely embarass them and get some for them to wear! LOL
