Fun photos and congrats to Ashton!

Please forgive me for bragging but...Congratulations to Ashton! She called me awhile ago with the fantastic news that she had made the honor roll again, but for the first time High Honors. She had all A's. Mark and I are so very proud of her. She has worked very hard this school year with working as a CNA one night during the week as well as working a full shift on the weekend. She has participated in football cheering as well and is a mentor to a elementary school student. She has learned to juggle schoolwork with regular life. She is another step closer to college life.

Yesterday Buddy and I headed into the woods since it was Sunday and no hunting is allowed. We have been unable to do our regular walk on the preserve trail due to hunting season which started the last Saturday of October. Only a few more days and we can safely walk in the woods every day. So off we went and I brought my new Canon camera along, to "play" with it and see what interesting scenes I might find. It was very cold, the wind chill was in the teens. As you can see from the first photo there was thick ice on part of the trail. Buddy tried navigating it but had to really "creep along"! The next photo was a shot I took of a little brook that we cross over. I like unusual shots. The last photo was taken of a sheet of ice in the tidal brook out in our backyard. The icy shapes remind me of little stars. Nature has so much beauty if we just stop and really look at it.
