A nice afternoon walk

Mark, BuddyTheElf and I took a nice walk on Monday afternoon. The walk was exceptionally nice as it did not require snowshoes or even boots! The Porter's Preserve trail was very well packed and as it is right on the shoreline didn't have much snow as we do at home. Mark found a great walking stick but Buddy for some reason thought it was for him and proceeded to chew on it at every opportunity!
The sky was such a very soft blue, the clouds were very fluffy and I truly believe that yes, spring is coming!
I started a new Fairy House on the main trail. I will have to go back soon and see if any "new construction" has gone on. As spring comes along I'm sure there will be alot more fairy houses appearing.
We spotted this little boat. We think it might be a seaweed harvester. It appeared to be dragging some sort of net/gear. The pole in the center of the photo is a channel marker with an osprey nest on it.

Oh it was so nice to sit down on the log bench at one of our favorite spots. Since the temperature was in the high 30s and no wind we sat for some time, just enjoying the sun's warmth. Such simple things bring such happiness!

We took our time moseying along the trail and the sun soon began to set. As we came to the end of the trail and started to walk along the road back to where we parked we walked through an area where local lobstermen store their traps for the winter. This is just a sample of the many traps that are stacked there.

This was a pretty scene to behold as we left the preserve. The small pond was covered with smooth ice and the pink clouds gave it such a peaceful look. A lovely way to end the day.

What a beautiful walk you had, it didn't look cold at all.....your photo's are lovely and I loved them all as well as the one with your little dog.
It is snowing lightly here today and hoar frost is very thick which makes for a picture post card.
...........:-) Hugs

I think it's the simplest moments like this that makes life pleasurable. I can see the landscape is slowly transforming too. 30 degrees sound very, very cold to me. I think the coldest SF ever got was in the 40's. That's already brutal weather for us!

I love fairy houses! I thought I was the only one who did that.

Aunt Jean: Thanks, glad you enjoyed the sunset!

Bernie: How nice of you to visit and leave your lovely comment. It was indeed a nice day to be out. Hard to believe that high 30s is warm but after this winter its almost hot, not! Hope all is well with you.

Brenda Kay Ledford: Hello! So pleased you came by and left your comments. The dog is "our baby" and he is all decked out in his LLBean suede jacket! We had a nice end of the day walk together.

Wanda: Hello and thanks for coming by. It was such a nice day that one couldn't help but go out into it and take it all in!

Lin Floyd: Glad you came along with us on our walk! I am so lucky that I live in such a beautiful part of the country. I cannot imagine ever being away from the ocean.

TechnoBabe: Thank you so much for your kind comment. I enjoy sharing my part of the world with my blogger friends!

gary's third pottery blog: Hi there. Glad you stopped by. For excitement us Mainers like to get out in our LL Bean boots and take walks...

rainfield61: Your comments are very special to me, thank you! I am slowly learning to fully embrace life around me and having fun doing so!

Lucy the Cat: Oh the Budster loves a stick to chew on for sure. He got into the brook a couple of days ago (in that cold water!)and dug out a couple of sticks in it. Today when we walked we met up with a big dog that apparently lives near the trail as we always see him, and he tried to tug my stick away as well!

Rose Belle: Hi there, so pleased you enjoyed this post. The 30s are really not all that bad as we are so used to it for several months. I myself like the temp to be at least 75 and up! I could see myself living in your area for sure!

What an interesting idea about fairy houses. Are you expecting adult fairies, or children fairies?

May be you might get animals helping themselves to ready made houses.
