Favorite bird visitors

One of my very favorites, the hummingbird.
My first bluebird visitor ever.
Soon there were two bluebirds.
Last year we also had our first male Cardinal.
Another first time visitor was the Northern Flicker.

And here are two of my favorite visitors....pileated woodpeckers.

I love hummingbirds too. The bluebirds are so cute. They make me think of my mom. She collects little fat birds in the form of figurines, etc. You captured all these beautiful birds so well!

Such great close-ups. In the third photo down, it took me awhile to notice the third bird coming in for a landing. It's rare to get a shot like that.

oh golly, I just love our cardinals--winter is so gloomy and dull, and we have a whole flock here!

we seem to take birds for granted but they are so enjoyable-we have robins everywhere...could spring be coming?

Omigosh, I have seen birds like the woodpeckers, do you think that is what they are here? We sit at the kitchen table and eat and play dominoes or other games and half the time we are watching the different birds. I really enjoyed this post and the wonderful pictures. The cardinal is a beautiful color isn't it?

I love how you captured the pileated woodpeckers on each side of the tree and stump.
One spring we found 2 Bluebirds dead inside a nesting box.

Abe keeps hoping he'll one day have Pileated Woodpecker come to his yard.

What a wonderful gift you've bee given in all these beautiful birds coming to visit you. I would never be able to leave the windows if I lived in your house. Wow, truly wonderful.

The hummingbird looks like my favorite bird, the green swallow. I envy you :) How great is that to look outside and see these beautiful birds. I only have black birds, not sure what they're called though.

Oh wow! You're so lucky that various colorful birds are aplenty at your place. Great shots! The Cardinal is striking! I love birds too but the only time that I was able to watch lovely colorful birds was when we visited Sydney, Australia many years ago.
I hope you'd have them there forever.

Thanks for time spent in my site Cheryl!

Thanks a bunch for visiting my Brookville Daily Photo and for the comment. Sometimes I don't know what to post each day but it is usually something that I just took a picture of that caught my eye. This post is like that. I was experimenting with shutter speed and aperature to see if I could stop motion and it seemed to work in this photo you saw.

I always enjoy coming here to see what you have posted. Today I am looking at birds I have never had in my backyard. Both the bluebirds and the pileated woodpeckers. Wow. I am impressed.

Hi Cheryl, you sure creat beautiful photographs. Love these birds.
My favourite is the Humming bird, reminds me of the Frankie Lane song, 'Humming bird'.
And another bird I love to watch is the Cardinal, its really beautiful. Also love the Dove and its early morning cooing.
You have fun Cheryl.....keep well, Lee.
