Senior Night

Tonight was Senior Night at the last home football game of the season. Prior to the start of the game the Senior football players and cheerleaders present their parents with a plaque thanking their parents for their support. The moms receive a carnation as well. The senior cheerleaders wear one of the senior players football shirts for the occasion. The parents lined up on the 50 yard line and all the players and cheerleaders lined up opposite the parents, with the senior honorees being announced one by one, followed by their parents names. I did very well, I didn't shed a tear although I had a pocketful of tissues. I must confess that I did that earlier today while I was working in the garden.

You have a lot to be proud of. I remember when I first became an empty nester. It was hard... but then I got used to it. Do enjoy this special time together.
