A wonderful summer day!

On Saturday Mark and I took a scenic drive to Sweetgrass Farm Winery & Distillery. It is located in a small town about an hour from our home. Its a beautiful place, with hills and fields along the way.
First heart! I spotted this as I stepped out of the car at the winery.
The truck and beautiful flowers and chimes were such a welcoming sight.
We could have sat in the chairs for hours....looking out over a field and hills.

Baa...this sheep appeared to be having a nice lunch.
This barn was well- maintained, standing there for many years indeed.
The shingles on the small outbuilding were eye-catching.
The winery is located near a portion of the Medomak Valley trust. After our wine tasting (fun!)we walked down through the fields toward a small brook.
This heart "popped up" on the path we followed.
The brook was very still. It was so quiet and peaceful beside it. The sky was such a lovely blue and soft, puffy clouds were overhead.
A nice place to stop and rest for a bit.
The sunflowers were beaming at us as we were leaving. Mark and I had what has to be one of the best days ever, peaceful, warm and relaxing.

Beautiful post, Cheryl. So glad you and your husband had such a wonderful day. We all need those carefree moments from time to time, don't we? That building with the fish scale shingles needs a picture painted of it by someone. :)

The nice thing about your pictures is you catch the small things and often those are the most interesting.

Hi Cheryl, beautiful photographs. I really love that 2nd last pic of that solitary bench.
Solitude shows us what should be; society shows us what we are.
You have a pleasant week and keep a song in your heart, Lee.

I'm used to say 'I like wine but wine doesn't like me' as a drop of wine makes my head drop'. I like wineries too. The entrance to the winery in your picture is very nice.

That's some treasures you've found in the area besides hearts! I especially like the quiet little brook and the house with eye catching shingles.

I wish you many happy returns of such a lovely summer day!

Duta: Thanks for coming by and your nice comments. I liked the drop of wine comment! We enjoyed the wine tasting but really were happy to get out and wander the beautiful countryside there. One to remember when its cold and snowy here!

What a beautiful trip. My hubby's still working in his practice so he spends many weekend reading professional material so our outing are rare but I sure would like to do what you did. Maybe we'll head to a Niagara winery?

The adventure in photographs was peaceful and while I caught myself yawning, it was when I saw those Adirondack Chairs. I would sit in those in a minute and go to sleep looking out over the countryside. I really liked this trip. Nice photography.
