A visit to Port Clyde and Marshall Point Lighthouse

Since winter has arrived full force with highs in the 20s lately I thought sharing a memory of a late summer trip with you would be a spirit-lifter! We took a dear family friend and my mom on a trip to Port Clyde which is about an hour or so from where we live. It is a lovely little coastal village.Love the old bathtub that must hold lobsters for sale...the only thing floating in it was lobster buoys when we were there.A gorgeous view of the inner harbor....
Mark noticed that this metal contraption was a shape of a sail and we loved the lobster buoys decorating it. My mom, myself and our dear friend Louise. After we left Port Clyde we drove to the Marshall Point Lighthouse. What a beautiful spot indeed. We walked out to the lighthouse and just took in the beautiful day. I certainly could have spent hours here!
And to make a wonderful day even better-a heart-shaped rock!

Truly lovely photos in this post. The pics remind of watching Angela Lansbury in Murder She Wrote. I still watch that sometimes.

Best wishes to you for a blessed and healthy year in 2012.

You thought right, Cheryl. Your late summer trip is indeed " a spirit lifter".

The blue of the sky and water, the colorful harbor, the rocks, the lighthouse -make one's day look like a real gift from God.
