Happy Birthday Margaret

Happy, Happy Birthday to Margaret. Tomorrow, Wednesday June 17th is Margaret's birthday. Margaret and I have always been very, very close but never more so than the past ten years or so. She was so very supportive to me and the kids after we went through some very hard times, always willing to help out, even with her own busy life, working and two children and a husband to keep her busy. She is also an EMT and ER Tech. Margaret is always there for all of us. She helped out when I had serious back problems, helped take care of Ashton after I had three surgeries and was always willing to go the extra mile while I recuperated. She flew to Tennessee when her best friend had twins to help out. She took great care of Ashton and Benjamin when Mark and I went to Antigua, teaching Ben how to drive a standard (!)and soothing Ashton when she missed her mom so very much. She has always been a great daughter to our mom. She and her family ARE Ashton's second family. Margaret has put up with all three of my kids grazing through her pantry over the years, always making sure they had what they wanted to snack on. She has counseled them, laughed with them and always supported them. She always has the best Christmas Eve gatherings, cookouts and when we camped, the best snacks! Ashton looks upon her Auntie as a mom figure, something that doesn't bother me in the least. How many kids get to have someone extra special involved in their lives
, who loves them unconditionally as their mom does?

Besides, why else would Ashton chose "Auntie's" wedding day to be born on? She must have known there would be an extra special bond between the two of them. Lots of love to my special "Sissy" on her special day!

It's such a special thing to have a friend who is always there for you. You are truly blessed and so is she.

Friends are not so easy to get sometimes, especially when you need one. You are fortunate to have such a friend.

Yes, Happy Birthday, Margaret! Margaret was born when I was a student at the U of Maine. I remember buying her a little U of M bib, which I planted on her chest before snapping a photo. She has certainly stood by you and your family over the years, Cheryl, and, of course, she has stood by her mother, too. It's obvious she's a very devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, EMT, etc., etc. I get tired just thinking about all she does!

Everything I learned and do, I learned from you! I've always told the kids I was here for them, and know you will be for mine. They always need to know there's someone other than "parents" that are there to listen. Thanks for always being there for me, love ya to pieces!!

Tori: Isn't the last photo great? To think that the bride and groom came to see their new niece on their wedding day! I think the maternity ward nurses were stunned when they stepped off the elevator!
Kay: It's truly a blessing to have a sister who is also a friend.
Abe Lincoln: Thanks for stopping by and how true your statement is!
Aunt Jean: Liked the story about the gift of the U of Maine bib. Vaguely thinking of a little blue bear??
