Walking in the spring sunshine

Today the boys (aka BuddyTheElf and Java Bean) and I headed out for our usual walk at the Preserve. The sun felt nice on my face as we walked and I was able to walk without my usual light jacket today. The temperature was in the 50s and it felt like a heat wave! The first heart I spotted today was this one made from leaves. I just love this heart! The boys and I walked around the brook's edge for a bit. The dogs had fun as usual sniffing, snuffling and digging around in the mud at the edge of the brook. They too seem eager to enjoy spring! Even though our winter was very mild there is nothing nicer than a beautiful, clear spring day. This heart was on a small tree.Looking up from the stream I spotted a heart on a tree. I try to look up more nowadays, both literally and figuratively! Doing so has given me alot of new sights to behold and enjoy. Spring is such a miraculous time of year for me. Another wooden heart! This heart was in a fallen tree. The boys were busy busy looking around hoping I'm sure to find a squirrel or chipmunk.....no such luck though today!Ah ha! Spotted a few pretty, dainty yellow blossoms. If you look closely you can see the blossoms are tinged with a pale purple color.Aren't they just beautiful? What a lovely prize for the day!Could this possibly be the beginnings of a Jack-in-the-Pulpit? Here is a lovely green "star" I found today amongst the dead leaves. This makes me smile too!As the boys and I finished up our walk and came out into the big field I spotted this lone bush waving its green buds at me! It seemed to say come close and see what I am wearing today! Soon it will be bursting with sweet orange colored blooms.

Looks like you and the boys had a great walk, Cheryl. All that is blooming up here in the North is the forsythia right now. I think we are a bit behind but we'll catch up soon. Enjoy your day!

What a wonderful walk! Isn.the birthing of Spring, a spectacular event, even in your own front yard!

Speing began in February in Arkansas and we have had some near summer temps followed by fall temps, so some of us allergy types ae suffering sniffles, sneezes, coughs, earaches, as my husband and I are, but well on the way to recovery.
