Today we received our first snowfall. Here on the coast we had about an inch or so of snow. To me the first snowfall is always the prettiest.

This tiny little tree was so cute, it was only about 10 inches high. It would be perfect for an elves Christmas tree.

BuddyTheElf wore his winter brown suede jacket. He came upon a pile of tires and started digging. I would say he doesn't mind the snow as he had his little nose stuck into the snow while digging!

The branches were pretty in their new coat.

Queen Anne's Lace is so very pretty in the snow.

I thought this dried plant looked somewhat like a star as I looked down upon it.

Perhaps a heart??

I guess the kayak and canoe will stay right where they are for the next few months.....

And once home where it was warm and dry, BuddyTheElf snuggled down into his blankets and took a nap while I went out to shovel!

Awww...I love Buddy all snugly in his blankets after digging head first into the snow.
Your top picture is especially pretty. Wow!
The first snowfall is so pretty, actually I don't mind the snow it is the cold that I resent...Hugs
Your snowfall is somewhat prettier than mine at the moment, Cheryl ...although it was lovely coming down! Hope we both have good ones for Christmas.
Hi Cheryl, Beautiful snowfall. I agree that the first is always the prettiest. GORGEOUS!!!! We got a dusting the past couple of days--but nothing much... I love snow --and can't wait 'til we get our first 'real' snow.
Love the evergreens when they are covered in snow.
Buddy the Elf seemed to have a great time in the snow.
Hugs,
Betsy
Wow, lovely pics of snowfall and buddy.
Oh how I envy you. It may be cold but it's so beautiful. We've just had a few flurries that melt before they hit the ground.
Hi Cheryl..So pretty but I wish it didn't have to be so cold!!
The Queen Anne's Lace looks very pretty with the snow as a topper!!
BuddyTheElf sure knows how to live...not spoiled either!!
Thank you for sharing your first snowfall with us. I must admit, though, that I think BuddyTheElf got the better end of the deal after the walk was over.
wow..looks like pretty freezing over there now.. u know what.. i remember going over to your blog not too long ago about winter.. dont tell me it is one year already???? time really rockets!!! hahaha...
I am waiting to see a "winter heart".
OH gosh, I love how wee little dogs have such a blast out in the snow and cold then come in and have that tired and happy look in the face then go to sleep!
you certainly captured the beauty of the first snowfall. love your photos!
Nice capture of the snow... liked the 2nd shot very much...we dont have snow here in Delhi :(
Loved seeing snow pictures. I think I'll choose BuddyTheElf's life, a quick run in the snow followed by a cozy nap on the sofa, while human shovels the snow.
Living in a snowless country, I'm very thrilled by your first snow pictures. The dog, on the other hand, doesn't seem to share my enthusiasm about what's going on outside; he likes it inside, on the bed, between the blankets.
Awesome photos. Lots of depth, contrast and diversity.
Beautiful images and BuddyTheElf is just a trip! He is darling. I love his little coat. Thanks for sharing the great images. :)
As a thank you for taking him on such a beautiful trek, Buddy really should have picked up a shovel, too, to help you.
Especially love the photo of the Queen Anne's Lace!
Thank you for this post, Cheryl. What a cutie BuddyTheElf is. I just loved seeing all the snow photos. I do miss the beauty of snow. I remember how we would all ooh and aahs over the first snowfall in Chicago. Then in February, it would get a little old... sigh. But that first one... magic!
Stopping by the woods, on a snowy ...day. Lovely!
Buddy you are so cute....love the photos Cheryl..
Looks as cold there as it's been here. Right now my temp says 17 and it's 7:30pm. Damp along with the cold temps.
