Its been 48 hours since Ashton's surgery. She is taking minimal pain meds and resting much. This photo was taken Friday after she returned home from the hospital-thanks again Benjamin and Allison for thinking of her and the beautiful flowers. She loves the fuzzy pink ribbon! She can get around quite well with her crutches, she has alot of experience in this department as she has sprained "the ankle" several times as well as this last episode. She has the almost constant attention of her boyfriend Eric and he waits on her hand and foot (and no pun intended!). They pass the time watching movies and working on laptops. Today she had an appointment at Mom's beauty salon and had her hair washed and braided. That alone would make one feel alot better. She has hopped off to Eric's house to watch the Superbowl game with his family. I was very reluctant to let her go as we have ice, ice and more ice everywhere. However Eric's family had their driveway and walk sanded out of concern for her, which was very nice. She probably will nap through the game. She probably won't be back at school for a few days as she has to keep her foot elevated at all times. She will wear the splint/cast for another 10 days or so and then hopefully into a boot. She wanted to be able to participate fully in all the graduation events that will be upon her in June and of course to be tip-top shape for the wonderful Grand March.

Her dear Grammy came to visit her yesterday, seen here with one of her "granddogs", Buddy The Elf. Grammy brought an adorable bear for Ashton. Eric and his mom brought balloons and a gift certificate for movie rentals. That is such a thoughtful idea for anyone who might be ill or house-bound. She certainly can get caught up on her movie-viewing.

I think Ashton is well on her way to recovery-she asked me if I could vacuum out the crumbs from her bed while she was at Eric's. Now the crumbs would be there because she has been treated to all kinds of treats the past few days. Only my daughter could ask something like this...

I'm still laughing at "vacuum my bed!!" Too funny!
Ahh Shirley - my other Mom! As in, the only other Mom to GROUND me in my teens!! Ha! Hi Mom! :D
Glad to hear Ashton is snapping back to normal. Hope you got her bed "vacuumed." Can't say I've ever vacuumed a bed, but I have vacuumed the sofa after Molly and I have had a cookie-eating binge. I definitely see a family resemblance in the photo of Buddy and his grandmother! And I'm a member of the family, too....
Glad that Ashy is getting along. Having her hair done must of felt heavenly. She'll be good as new at graduation to father/daughter dance with Mark! Grammy and her granddogs, they all love her to pieces!!
