Getting caught up slowly but surely!

I have never been so behind in my blogging as I have lately. I have had some battles this spring with the darn fibromyalgia and haven't been out and about as much as I wish. With the arrival of the beautiful weather we are now experiencing I hope to be able to get out more and enjoy the warmth and sunshine. I have taken some short walks and found a few hearts here and there...

This is the yummiest heart I have ever found!

I found this big heart at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens on a recent visit. I don't have the energy to walk the entire gardens as usual so Mark and I chose to visit the Rhododendron and Perennial Gardens during his vacation the first of June. I will post more photos from the garden visit in my next post.

Of course having two dogs in the house means having to get outside more often! While walking "the boys" recently up the driveway I spotted this mud puddle heart!

Here is a heart in the trunk of a tree...

And an update on our newest family member Java Bean...he fits nicely on Mark's hassock, he is found perched here alot of the time looking down upon Buddy!

The dogs seem to tolerate each other "well". Buddy has accepted the fact that Java Bean is here to stay. There are a few tussles over dog bones, blankies and seating/sleeping arrangements but otherwise everyone is settled in quite nicely.

While I have been working on this post Buddy has taken a short snooze on the floor beside where I sit and Java Bean is happily snoozing away as well on the pillows next to me.
Summer officially arrives tomorrow and I am more than ready for it. We had a rainy, dreary spring....two weeks of constant rain at one point. Everything is a pretty green around here and the flowers are starting to show their pretty faces. I have enjoyed the scent of lilacs through open windows. Spotted the first lightning bug on June 10th. I love to see them! Mark has been busy mowing our huge lawn. He does it all by hand mower and does one section at night after work. We have about 3 to 4 acres of lawn to mow and Mark still hasn't given in to a riding mower. He says its good exercise! Whew!

You are not alone in being behind in your blogging, Cheryl...many seem to be making such sttements, including myself. Spring is always a busy time, especially with our weeks of rain, it almost looks like a jungle here...everything grows so fast. Hope you are feeling better...love all the hearts you have found, especially the yummy one!

Thank you for your kind comment Wanda. Yes, the lawn was beginning to need a few goats or sheep grazing on it! Take care.

I'm so sorry you've not been feeling too well. Both my mom and my friend have fibromyalgia, and it makes their lives miserable at times.

I love your hearts - especially the heart in the trunk of the tree. I also love how your dogs have accepted each other - the picture of them looking out the window together is precious!

James: Thank you! Java Bean has declared himself King of the House I believe, much to Buddy's chagrin! Java has finally settled in and we are enjoying seeing his fun side! Hope all is well with you and Vicki and of course the cats! I am slowly catching up with my blogs, a little bit at a time.

grammie g: Thank you for thinking of me! I have missed my blog friends so much, but just wasn't up to par the past few months to blog or read my favs. I am BACK!! I have had to really look hard for hearts lately...hmm...maybe because I am too busy basking in this lovely sunshine!

reanaclaire: Hi! So nice to hear from you! I will be hopping over to your blog next, have missed everyone's blogs.

Deb: I hope I stay "back" for a bit! Thanks for thinking of me, I have been wondering how the special man in your life is doing, growing by leaps and bounds I bet! I am catching up with my blogs slowly, will be around yours soon. Perhaps if I get out and sit in the beautiful sunshine we are having I will feel better!

Clytie: Thanks so much for stopping by. I am so sorry about your mom's and friend's fibro, do they have blogs about it? If so, I would be interested in checking them out. I wish them the very best. I am so glad you enjoyed the hearts, I have been amazed by what you find for hearts! Take care.

Lin Floyd: I am happy to be sitting here reading all the wonderful comments. I wondered if any of my blogger friends had given up on my blog as it had been so long! I think I am going to have to go out and purchase a riding mower for Mark, he still won't give up the hand mowing and it takes him 3-4 nights after work to mow the lawn and then he starts the cycle over again! But he works as a Medical Lab Tech and likes to get outside after being in a hospital all day. Hope you are well and I will be by soon!

Gary's third pottery blog: YAY for baby dogs!! Java Bean is a hoot! Buddy just tolerates....

I have my posts ready to go up everyday, but I'm having a hard time keeping up with my visiting because I'm trying to organize our trip album. Life does intrude. I love this post, Cheryl. You do come up with the most wonderful, beautiful hearts.

I'm glad to hear that Buddy and Java Bean are getting along well. That strawberry heart looks yummy!

You're not the only one who has been behind on blogging. I've done almost none since we went on vacation. I'll sure have a lot of catching up to do after we get home.

I'm with you.....I can't seem to find time to blog in the summer. I think about it but just can't sit down and do it!
Java Bean reminds me of my Trixie....so cute!

Hi Cheryl! It's just amazing the hearts you find everywhere. I've probably already said this, but you have certainly inspired me to keep on the lookout for hearts in all I do. I just need to take some pictures of them too because they are so nice to see! You are fortunate to have been soaked. We are so parched here in Florida, we're about ready to crack. Rain is expected all weekend and I'm still waiting. Hang in there, Cheryl! Nice to hear from you!!

Good for Mark to want to combine maintaining the property with some exercise.

The dogs look like old buddies already.

Glad the dogs are getting along well. Makes for a happier home. I'm like you, way behind in visiting blogs. I don't know why I seem to be so busy, don't seem to get much done. LOL
