Blizzard

Last week we had the first blizzard of the winter. We received close to a foot of snow. The above photo is of our driveway and part of the front lawn. Luckily we have Jeeps so we can get out and go. Out of this storm we had enough snow so that our driveway had to be cleared twice.
The front step railing was even decorated in white.

The summer chairs are sitting in the snow....guess it will be sometime before they are occupied.
The snow turned the dead bushes into pretty designs. All I could think of was that they looked like they were covered in cotton candy.
Even though the flowers have gone by, the fresh snow brought them back to life. They looked as if they were covered in cotton balls.
Two of the eight birdfeeders we fill are just waiting for customers!

The blizzard also brought more than enough snow for me to go snowshoeing! I have managed to go out five times so far.

Your blizzard brought more snow than our southern Maine version of it.

Especially love the photo of the summer chairs!

The middle pictures are the most beautiful: the snow covered chairs/bushes/flowers.

The white snow is , in my opinion, symbolic of the new year which starts white, clean, and then turns into a year colored in the colors of different problems & ailments.
Have a 'white', Happy New Year!

It's like a winter wonderland! That blizzard hit us too but the following wind and warmer weather took away almost all of the snow.

Happy New Year!

Cheryl,
What lovely snow photos. Looks as though you had a big blizzard. It sure is pretty. We got snow on Christmas day, too. It was lovely.
I hope you have a happy New Year.

Your snow pictures are absolutely beautiful. That much snow at once would bring life down here to a screeching halt for weeks. I'm glad you were able to get out and enjoy the snowfall. And of course I'm glad you got out and captured these pictures to share.

Great photos Cheryl. I just got back from making my Christmas visit to relatives in Massachusetts because we were delayed last weekend due to the snow. I'm go glad we postponed the trip. But, I am more glad to be HOME............:)
We went snow shoeing last week and had a blast. The Robert's Farm Preserve is two minutes from my house and we went over and got some fresh air and exercise. Thank God I didn't twist anything too bad or start hurting.
Wishing you a wonderful new year.

Your snow photos are lovely Cheryl, we had snow for Christmas, but then later warm temperatures of 65 melted it all.

Brrrr... I love the beauty of snow but not the extreme cold. I'm glad I can see your gorgeous photos while wearing tank tops now.

I've not been observant about finding hearts, but I wanted to let you know that my granddaughter found one for me. I posted it on:

Just wanted to be sure to tell you.
I'll probably never find one on my own.

The snow looks so soft and fluffy. You have an eye for a good composition. Your photos are amazing!

Nice snow shots! Can't help remembering the kind of Christmas tree we used to make when still a kid. We'd gather dead tree branches and twigs then decorate it with cottons for a make believe snow. ha ha.. that's how exactly how it looked! oh, those kid stuff..

Keep yourself always warm Cheryl! Take care!
